About the Event

Humans have been gathering in circle, drumming and singing since the very beginning; it's in our blood, it's in our bones, it's our human nature. We each have a drum in our chest, our heartbeat. When we were in the womb we were held by our Mother's heartbeat, and the sound of the drum connects us to the heart of our Great Mother Earth.

When we drum together, we unite our hearts. When we sing together, our souls dance with one another. I hold this playful space to share the songs I've come to learn and love dearly over the years. I carry many songs from different traditions around the world; Yawanawa, Zimbabwe, Lakota, Sanskrit, Quechua, Mauri, Aztec… songs that offer prayers of blessings and gratitude to Mother Earth, invoke our Cosmic Essence, and sing to honor our siblings the plants and animals. Paradoxically enough this evening is less about being good at singing, but more so about feeling, liberating our expression, connecting to our hearts and one another. The result is an immense felt sense of belonging, feeling grounded and nourished. So let us come together, unite our voices, and have fun! DETAILS If weather permits we'll be out back around our fire pit, and I'll offer a fire ceremony.
